Samantha Virgo,

MSc OT, OT Reg. (Ont.), RYT 250, TIYT

About Me: I am a registered Occupational Therapist in Ontario with extensive experience in assessing and supporting a wide range of clients, often when trauma and complexities are involved. I am also a certified trauma-informed yoga teacher. I have experience working with those struggling with sensory processing, disruptive behaviours, self-regulation, and attachment issues related to adverse childhood experiences and complex developmental trauma.

    Who I Work With:
    • Children
    • Teenagers
    • Parents
    • Caregivers (including kin and foster)

My Approach: My trauma-sensitive practice focuses on supporting children and adolescents to develop self-understanding and self-regulation in safe, effective, and kind ways. I use sensory- and motor-based therapy to help clients increase body awareness and restore the body to a regulated state.

How I help: My goal is to support clients in developing self-regulation and body awareness, fostering a sense of safety and resilience.

    Tools I Use:

    • Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI, ebsaic) framework for complex trauma
    • Child Attachment and Play Assessment (CAPA, Module 1)
    • The Just Right State Children’s Programme and Parent Programme® (JRS, certified facilitator)
    • Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI, Module 1)
