Our Mission

To champion the provision of accessible, effective, trauma-informed assessment and treatment of children, teens, and families impacted by experiences of adversity, trauma, and mental health difficulties.

Our Vision

Children, youth, and families resilient in the face of adversity and mental health challenges.

Our Commitment

To provide timely, compassionate, and effective mental health services tailored to individual needs and strengths.

Our Approach

We use a brain-based approach to improving the problems children and youth come in with and increasing their daily functioning. All of our services are grounded in an understanding of child development and how stress and adversity can derail healthy development.

OCFR is continuing to provide services during the COVID-19 outbreak via video or phone sessions

UPDATE (March 17, 2020): We are opening our waitlist to take new clients on an immediate basis for short-term support by video or phone to provide support to those in need during the current crisis.

There is a quickly evolving public health situation as a result of the COVID-19 virus and we are all being advised to limit our contacts with others as much as possible to help slow the spread. As a result, we have temporarily moved all of our services to videoconferencing or phone sessions. We feel that it is important to take this step to contribute to flattening the curve of the spread and meet our responsibilities to protecting the health of our clients, staff, and the greater society.
For current clients:  We recognize that this is not ideal and may not work well with some of our younger clients. We will also be available to provide support to parents and caregivers as this may work better during this period. We are confident that together we can find creative solutions to ensure the ongoing support and health of you and your family during this challenging and unusual time. You can discuss your particular situation with your clinician to decide what will work best. Research has found that therapy conducted in this manner can still be effective and sometimes clients actually feel more comfortable being in their own home.
