Trafficked individuals are some of the most vulnerable members of our society. They have experienced multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and disruptions in normal development and have often lost hope that society will protect them. They are vulnerable to ongoing criminalization and victimization. Many will have additional challenges with mental health and substance use that have been unaddressed and require specialized mental health services.
