About Me:
I am a registered social worker who provides therapy to children, teenagers, young adults, parents, caregivers, and families. My practice has been shaped by extensive experience supporting children and youth involved in the child welfare and youth justice systems, as well as those impacted by trauma, grief and loss, adoption, and attachment-related challenges. I have particular expertise in complex developmental trauma, trauma-related dissociation, disruptive behaviours, emotional regulation, and adoption-related experiences. I also work with youth facing complex mental health concerns and have experience supporting clients with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and learning and intellectual disabilities.
I have a passion for caregiver support services and deeply value helping parents and caregivers feel more confident and connected in their roles. I also assist amicably separated parents in developing co-parenting plans that prioritize their children’s well-being and promote consistency, stability, and healthy family relationships.
Who I Work With:
• Children
• Teenagers
• Parents
• Caregivers (including kin and foster)
• Families
• Young Adults (up to age 25)
My Approach:
I believe that healing and resilience grow within safe, supportive relationships. I work closely with caregivers and the important adults in children’s lives to strengthen connection and foster a sense of security. My approach is warm, gentle, and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practices that emphasize attachment and neurobiology. I support parents in making sense of their child or teen’s struggles through this lens and provide practical tools and strategies to address behaviours in ways that encourage growth and positive change while preserving and strengthening their relationships.
How I Can Help:
I help my clients make sense of difficult experiences, manage overwhelming emotions, and strengthen their relationships. I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals and families feel understood, connected, and empowered in their healing journey.
In addition to direct therapy, I offer caregiver support and consultation to parents, and I provide professional consultation and workshops for schools, agencies, and community organizations on topics such as trauma, attachment, adoption, parenting, and child and youth mental health.
